This residence, designed for a single retired woman, was conceived as a passive solar house, efficient in design and construction. The budget was tight and needed to incorporate sweeping views, southern sun, and an efficient, easily maintained floor plan. The interior is a combination of post & beam and 'stick' construction. The trim throughout and the kitchen cabinetry were crafted with salvaged barn boards from a local barn. Many other salvaged items purchased and found by the owner were incorporated into the design.
